About Kathy Todd-Seymour
Registerd Nurse, Neurofeedback Practitioner, Herbalist
Kathy, is a compassionate and caring registered nurse herbalist with over 35 years of experience in the health care field. She has extensive training in herbal health care and neurofeedback. She is also a retired lactation consultant, birth doula, pediatric nurse and was the developer and owner of Mother & Child newborn care.
Several years ago, Kathy started seeking alternative options for her own health concerns. She was struggling with an autoimmune disorder, anxiety, digestive issues and a recent concussion. She spent the next four years studying the response our bodies have to the exposure of continuous processed food, environmental toxins, pharmaceuticals and the daily stress of directing a business and caring for family. It was exciting to find that by making holistic lifestyle changes and committing to neurofeedback training, she slowly started to improve her overall physical and mental health. These changes reduced chronic pain, chronic anxiety and dependence on pharmaceuticals. She works with a combination of personal experience and research-based information to develop recommendations best suited for you. She looks forward to helping you and your family achieve their personal health goals.
What is Neurofeedback training?
Neurofeedback training can be a great holistic addition to a health care plan. In traditional Neurofeedback, one or more sensors are placed on the scalp, along with one on each ear. Information about the brain's activity is then provided to the client as "feedback," both visually and auditorily. The brainwaves are presented on a computer through an EEG video display, often accompanied by a video game. The individual engages with the video game solely using their brain, without the need for hands. As desirable brainwave activity increases, the person is rewarded with the video game moving faster, scoring points, and emitting a beep. The brain will begin to respond to this feedback, leading to positive changes in neuro regulation. The learning of new brainwave patterns takes place during the neurofeedback process. This new electrical activity is “shaped” toward a more desirable, more regulated pattern. The research is solid on the various training protocols for many different mental health conditions. These may include ADHD, some learning disabilities, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, chronic pain, migraines, memory issues and traumatic brain injury to name a few. Neurofeedback training is also offered for Athletic Peak Performance and is used by many professional teams.

Holistic Herbal Care
Nightingale Holistic Care takes a holistic approach to your overall health. This approach differs from typical Western medicine because it focuses on the whole person rather than just a single diagnosis. Herbalism is based on four pillars of health: nutrition, sleep, movement, and stress reduction. I will take the time to listen and understand each person's individual needs. At your consult meeting, we will review your medical history, discuss any medications or supplements that you are presently using. We will discuss your daily lifestyle, including family and work schedules. With all of this information and your health goals in mind, I will educate and support you as we develop a personalized protocol. This may include ideas for herbal tea blends or tinctures, new food choices, guidance on sleep hygiene, and ways to incorporate movement into your busy day. The goal is to restore and then maintain your overall well-being. Herbalism belongs to the people.
